Photo Series Below - 48 year old patient has Baker grade 4 capsular contracture of silicone gel implants which had been placed 20 years prior in the subglandular plane by a different surgeon. The hardened, painful, capsule was removed with the leaking silicone implants and residual silicone contamination. New, larger, high-profile saline implants were then placed in the submuscular plane. There has been no recurrence of the capsular contracture one year from surgery.

Post-operative views are 6 months after bilateral capsulectomies, lymph node excisions for silicone lymphadenitis, mastopexy and recreation of inframammary folds, exchange of leaking silicone implants with saline implants placed in subpectoral position.
